My name is Alice Veneziani and I am the founder of the independent luxury clothing brand that bears my name, I create clothes and accessories for women who want beautiful, limited edition pieces that are unique, elegant, classy and sensual.
With this article I want to answer one of the questions I have been asked in recent weeks: "Can luxury clothes give you greater self-confidence?"
Ever since I was little, I couldn't find my size in stores. Over time this demoralized me, lowered my self-esteem and even my body confidence. This was because I was a few pounds heavier than I wanted, and I also suffered from eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating.
I watched my grandmother and family members go to the seamstress and return with beautiful dresses that fit them perfectly. Those dresses had a unique and elegant style that I couldn't find anywhere else.
Not being able to find my size was definitely a central factor. At the same time, however, going around the various shops, I couldn't find quality or unique and elegant clothes. Even though I lived in Italy, I couldn't find the quality that Italy is so praised for.
And I also had another problem...
I care a lot about the environment and animals and have always been hesitant to buy luxury clothes and accessories due to animal-based materials such as leather, rare skins and silk.
All these factors made me think about whether I absolutely had to do something.
First I worked on my mental health.
Then I started working on my physical health and appearance.
I started losing weight, getting back into shape, and getting to a point where I was happy with my physical appearance.
But I also did something else...
I decided to open my own brand, a sustainable luxury brand.
Today my life is very different than a few years ago.
